Get More Google Reviews With a QR Code

Most happy customers would leave a review if it took ten seconds. The problem is that finding your business on Google, scrolling to the reviews and tapping “Write a review” takes much longer. A QR code that opens the review form directly removes all of those steps.
Step 1: Get your review link
The easiest way is through your Google Business Profile:
- Search for your business name on Google while logged in to the account that manages it, or open the Google Business Profile app.
- Find the option to ask for reviews (it may be called “Ask for reviews” or “Get more reviews”).
- Copy the short link Google shows you. It opens the review form for your business.
If you know your Place ID, you can also build the link yourself in the form search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID. Our Google review QR code generator already has that format filled in.
Step 2: Turn it into a QR code
- Paste the link into the Google review QR code generator.
- Pick colours that match your brand, keeping a dark pattern on a light background.
- Add a frame with a clear call to action, such as “Review us on Google”.
- Download SVG for print or a high-resolution PNG.
Use a dynamic code if you might move or rename the business. You can then update the link without reprinting.
Where to place it
Put the code where customers are already happy and have a free hand:
- Restaurants and cafés: on the bill folder, the receipt or a small table sign.
- Shops: at the till, on the bag or on the thank-you card in online orders.
- Hotels and rentals: in the room, on the key card holder or in the welcome folder.
- Services: on the invoice, the business card or the last page of a report.
Rules to follow
Google’s review policies are strict, and breaking them can get reviews removed. Keep it simple:
- Do not pay for reviews or offer discounts, gifts or free items in exchange for them.
- Ask everyone, not only happy customers. Filtering who gets the link (“review gating”) is not allowed.
- Never write reviews for yourself or ask staff, friends or family to do it.
A friendly sentence next to the code works best: “Enjoyed your visit? A quick review helps us a lot.”
Measure the results
With a dynamic code you can see how many people scan the code each day and compare it with the number of new reviews. If many people scan but few review, make the call to action clearer or move the code to a calmer moment, for example the receipt instead of the entrance.
